This version has been updated since VEGMAP2018_AEA_07012019_beta (2018 Vegetation Map of South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland beta).

The following changes have been made since the beta version:

• Spelling correction: Oudshoorn Karroid Thicket corrected to Oudtshoorn Karroid Thicket

• Edited polygons: merged 22 slivers of Blombos Strandveld into Hartenbos Dune Thicket

• New Fields:

o Threat Status and Protection Level. These two fields are associated with the National Biodiversity Assessment 2018 and the user should refer to the documents associated with this work for further information.

o Estuary_ID

o CoastalPoly

• In the Cross-realm field:

o lumped: National Coastal Map (Hairpin Parabolic Dunes) under National Coastal Map (Parabolic Dunes) in Cross realm field and

o Rename Frontal Dunes Group to Foredunes.

This version of the vegetation map is an update of the 2012 version released in 2015. Previous versions of the map were 2009 and 2006 (original version). The source of the data for updated areas of the map were developed through contributions from various people including the people included in the contributors field (See Attribute Fields)
