The National Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) commissioned the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to undertake a strategic Environmental Assessment for the development of aquaculture in South Africa. An Aquaculture facility database was produced during this process.
