BGIS Spatial Datasets The vegetation map for the Little Karoo (Vlok et al. 2005) and the Little Karoo Transformation Map (Thompson et al. 2008) were used to determine where potential exists for gannaveld restoration. This was done by intersecting the gannaveld habitat type with areas that are either moderately or severely degraded. Only one class was identified and this is where there is good growth potential for gannaveld.
