Wetland Interventions 2012 (WorkingForWetlands_interventions)
This layer maps the location of interventions rehabilitated within the working for wetlands programme. THE WORKING for WETLANDS PROGRAMME is a partnership approach to the rehabilitation, protection and sustainable use of wetlands. The points were collected using GPS by a team for planning and implementation of rehab. The data is captured in vector format. The attribute data was collected from rehabilitation plans document and checked and confirmed by the provincial coordinators.
Note:
This GIS layer codes:
• Working for Wetlands rehabilitation interventions points in projects
• The wetland polygons are recorded on a separate shapefile

Mapping the locality of working for wetlands projects is essential for reporting the work done. This layer will also assist in analysing where work has been done; and where the other priorities are. It is also important for monitoring the status of intervention and also the rehabilitation rewards.

Methodology: WGPS coordinates are collected during the planning phase of the project. Again during the building or implementation of a structure the coordinates are collected. Theplanning is done per province by a wetland specialist, working for wetlands provincial coordinator and an engineer. The attribute data was collated from rehabilitation plans report for each intervention and then verified with provincial coordinator. The rehabilitation plans are available from provincial co-ordinators relevant for each project.
