BGIS Spatial Datasets Protected areas within the SKEP planning domain. Protected areas are categorised according to their legal status. This data was used to assist in setting priorities for conservation in the SKEP region. The location of protected areas was obtained from various agencies (see field source). These were combined and their boundaries were sometimes adjusted to match cadastral boundaries. Topology was checked using ARCINFO software. Additions by Western Cape Nature Conservation Board: 24 January 2003, Glynnis Barodien (Conservation Planning Unit) recalculated areas and perimeters using Xtools in Lambert projection.
