Supplemental Information / Report Reference:
Lombard, A.T., Wolf, T., and Strauss, T. 2004. GIS Specialist Services, Gouritz Initiative. Jonkershoek, WCNCB Internal Report.
Methodology / Lineage Description:
The north-south corridor of the Gouritz River provides a link from the Karoo to the sea, thereby presenting a north-south macroclimatic gradient as well as an upland-lowland gradient (to provide opportunities for movement and migration of fauna and flora with climate change). In addition, this corridor tracks the river and it’s associated aquatic processes and patterns. It was described by J.Vlok and digitised by T.Wolf. See p. 56 in Lombard et al. (2004).
