2025 NBA Remnants of terrestrial ecosystem threat status and protection level results
nba2025_terr _RLE_EPL_remnants layer forms part of the NBA2025 and is associated with the nba2025_terrl_RLE_EPL (large-scale industrial development) layer. The remnants layer shows the protection level and threat status of the current remaining extent of terrestrial ecosystems. It forms a key part of the National Biodiversity Assessment.
For further details, see the relevant ecosystem threat status and protection level pages.

The Red List of Ecosystems or Ecosystem Threat Status and Protection Level are key ecosystem headline indicators calculated as part of the National Biodiversity Assessment (NBA) 2025. This vector map represents the current threat status and protection level of ecosystem types based on the 2025 NBA assessment. This map forms the foundation for many land-use decision processes, including conservation planning.

The ecosystem threat status and protection levels reported in the National Biodiversity Assessment 2025 are based on the 2024 National Vegetation Map and the 1990, 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2022 land cover datasets. The IUCN Red List of Ecosystems methodology was first applied in the National Biodiversity Assessment 2018 terrestrial ecosystem assessments; therefore, the resulting ecosystem threat status and protection level indicators are not directly comparable across assessment periods.
