South African marine protected areas (MPAs) were mapped using coordinates published in the Government Gazette. This layer built on the previous NSBA 2004 MPA data layer. It now includes newly proclaimed MPAs such as Stilbaai and Amathole. New MPAs were mapped by Trevor Wolf.
