A new vector based land cover map for the planning domain was created by combining existing land cover products and updating these using the most recent imagery available to the project. Transformative land cover classes were mapped off a variety of image sources at a scale of between 1:10 000 and 1:50 000. The land cover can be considered correct for 2006 and for the land classes mapped can be considered greater than 95% accurate. The land cover was developed using heads-up on-screen manual digitising of

features. Three levels of Land Cover Class were captured (cultivation, mining and settlement). Modeling degradation (primarily as a result of overgazing) for the area was not possible and no degradation classes are thus reported.
